Competitions description
This year, each team will take part in 6 competitions in the eliminations.
– 3 individual competitions
– 2 team competitions
– 1 special competition
The first competition is a team task „Waters of the Baltic Sea”
The southern coast of the Baltic Sea is a place where amber was found in ancient times – the gold of the north. Water is also necessary for rinsing it in land-based amber mines. The team’s task is to bring as much water as possible in a bucket from the start to the finish line. The task is primarily based on the amount of water brought to the finish line. In the case of the same amount of water, the shorter time determines the position.
The second competition is the team task „Difficult Road”
In ancient times, there were no convenient roads that amber merchants could use to move freely along the amber route. They often had to build them.
The task consists of two competitors from the team building rigging for the third competitor on both sides of the obstacle. The third competitor moves along the prepared ropes. Additionally, competitors 1 and 2 must carry the competitor to the appropriate field, where they must correctly hang small banners that will form the competition logo. Then competitor 3 must reach the other side and go down to the ground using the ropes. Competitors 1 and 2 must pull the ropes down.
The third competition is an individual task „Speed transport”
Amber transports along the entire length of the route were exposed to attacks by robbers, the speed of transport was important!
The fastest time to complete the track is what counts.
The fourth competition is an individual task „Help on the route”
During the several thousand-kilometer journey, amber merchants were exposed to many situations in which they had to count only on the help of their companions.
The goal of the task is to reach the injured person, save him and get him down to the ground.
The fifth competition is an individual task „Amber Room”
The Amber Room is the most famous and largest work made of amber. In ancient times, much smaller but equally decorative jewelry was constructed from amber.
The task involves walking on ropes as quickly as possible, collecting the necessary tools and assembling the puzzle.
The sixth task – Special
The task involves collecting as much amber as possible during 5 competitions. Each competitor and team will have to decide whether to collect additional amber or get a better time in the task!
